High-Impact Practices (HIPs) are central to MU’s Strategic Plan goal of ensuring every graduate completes 3+ HIPs. This session provides a foundational overview of HIPs based on the AAC&U framework, including what defines a HIP, the essential quality dimensions, and how these practices are implemented and tracked at MU. Faculty will learn how to design or adapt courses to meet HIPs criteria with academic rigor and intentionality, and leave with practical steps for developing HIPs-designated courses.
