Innovation Faculty Fellowships for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its Impact on Teaching and Learning.

Program Overview

The Teaching for Learning Center (T4LC) is announcing an exciting leadership opportunity for MU faculty to scale greater knowledge, expertise, and implementation of course design and teaching practices that leverage artificial intelligence for student learning and success. This new program will invest in Mizzou educators to grow MU’s use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning by providing professional learning and mentorship experiences for instructors that include emerging best practices, ethics, and student literacy.

Dr. Mondelli and team invite faculty applicants from across the university to become ambassadors of curricular and instructional innovation. These new fellows will receive their own professional development as a cohort to transform an existing course they teach, integrating AI to enhance student learning and success in the new AI-landscape. This experience will be facilitated in a Train the Trainer format, so that the fellows become equipped to serve as ambassador-consultants in their own departments, colleges, and university-wide.

Up to 10 fellowships will be awarded. After completing their own professional development and redesigning one of their own courses, each fellow will train 6 colleagues to redesign a course in summer and fall 2024.

As this fellowship entails a substantial commitment, and to ensure that everyone is aligned and invested, we will need confirmation from your supervisor approving your participation. An email approval is acceptable and is to be submitted via the application.

Benefits:

Each fellow earns a taxable $9,000.00 additional pay stipend for their professional development, redesign project, and mentorship of 6 faculty clients between March 2024 – December 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:

To participate in the Innovation Faculty Fellowship program and earn the taxable $9,000.00 additional pay stipend, applicants must be a regular, full-time faculty member at MU, either Tenure-Track or Non-Tenure-Track. Visiting or other conditional appointments do not qualify for this program.
